| Beginning of the Centennial Trail that goes along the south side of the canyon with many beautiful views of the falls, the Twin Falls Police Shooting Range, and Evel Knievel's jump site. It's probably two miles one way with a significant elevation gain. It's all paved though so it's easy. |

The floor of the lookout is made of expanded metal so you can see all the way to the bottom of the canyon (about 300 feet) through the holes in the metal. If you're queasy about heights, stay on the trail and take a picture of your family (like I did). |

| See the boring hill? That's actually the remains of Evel Knievel's ramp where he tried to jump a steam powered motorcycle over the Snake River Canyon. His parachute "malfunctioned" and his motorcycle plunged 300 feet into the river below. |

| Ephraim was not going to stand for his brother getting to go inside a cave without him. After a lot of rock scrambling, yelling, and sliding Ephraim eventually made it up to the cave with Tommy! He was extremely proud of himself. Of course, on the way down, both boys slid on their butts in the dirt. |

| Ephraim and I went fishing afterwards at Dierkes Lake which is about a quarter mile drive above Shoshone Falls. We didn't have any luck, but we watched a couple people pull Large Mouth Bass out. There is a playground and swimming area. (It was too cold for our taste) |

I loved this post! I really want to take my kids to Shoshone Falls. The trail looked fun. It was also fun seeing a picture of the temple there. Thanks for posting!
Thank you! The falls are beautiful in the spring time before the farmers take all the water and reduce it to a trickle.
